CD 23: Bolanos To Refile

[Press Release from Rick Bolanos (D-El Paso), Candidate for Congress, Texas-CD-23]

Rick Bolanos will be at the office of the Secretary of State in Austin on Thursday August 24th, 2006  at 11:00 am to file to represent the people of the Texas 23rd Congressional District.  Afterwards he will hold a press conference in front of the Secretary of State’s offices where he will  announce his intent to continue his campaign for the 23rd Congressional District. Mr. Bolanos is a member of a family that had four brothers serve in at the same time. He will announce that he is campaigning in honor of his mother, Margaret Bolanos.

One by one the brothers returned from the war and Rick was the last to come home.

He met with his mother on the Friday that he arrived from and the following day his mother passed away at the age of 42. Her most fervent prayer was that her four sons come home safely. She was the only casualty from the war in his family. Mr. Bolanos will speak of his mothers’ community activism and her desire that her children follow in her steps answering the call of their nation to defend our freedom. She also asked them to be the voice for those whose quiet desperation needs to be heard.  Rick will dedicate his campaign to his mother, the mothers of our patriots fighting in and , and all the women in the 23rd district.

Rick will speak about the anguish that mothers of our young patriots who are fighting the war go through. He will address the sacrifices that women have made for our nation, including the sacrifices that he saw the nurses in go through. Our nations’ mothers and women continue to sacrifice their children and their lives to insure that our nation is protected. Rick Bolanos is dedicated to honor that sacrifice and to insure that their sacrifice does not go unrecognized.
