Eltife Files Bill To End Gas Utility Surcharge

Austin, Texas–Monday Senator Kevin Eltife, R-Tyler, filed SB 742 which would repeal the authority of a gas utility to assess a surcharge for capital costs that many Texas customers have been paying.
“Consumers deserve protection,” Eltife said in response to filing the bill. “Some gas utilities have chosen to exploit the law to the detriment of Texas customers.”
