On Friday, Rep. Betty Brown filed HB 1588 that would end the practice of contingency fees for anyone who lobbies an executive officer of the state government.
Rep. Brown believes that, “government actions should only come from a desire to benefit the public. When compensation that is contingent upon success is used, the natural evolution leads to corrupt practices, and public confidence in government ultimately pays the price.
