Cong. Gonzalez Named To Committee On House Administration

Washington, DC – Congressman Charles Gonzalez, Chairman of the House Small Business’s Subcommittee on Regulations, Healthcare and Trade, and member of the House Committee on Energy and Commerce, was recently selected to serve on the Committee on House Administration. The Committee on House Administration of the House of Representatives is charged with the oversight of federal elections and the day-to-day functions of the House of Representatives.
On her selections for this committee, Speaker Pelosi said in a statement,
“This talented group of Members brings the experience and knowledge that is necessary to ensure the vital functions of the House continue to run efficiently and effectively.â€
Gonzalez issued the following statement on his selection:
“In recent years, numerous election day irregularities have posed a significant threat to fair election practices across our country, threatening Americans’ right to vote. The right to cast a ballot is one of the fundamental pillars of our nation’s democracy, and as a member of this committee, I vow to work to ensure that the right to vote and to have that vote counted is protected without compromise.
“I am honored by this assignment and grateful that Speaker Pelosi has asked me to serve on this critical committee. I look forward to carrying out the responsibilities of this committee, ensuring that our nation fulfills its voting right’s promise to all of our citizens.â€
