GONZALES RE-ELECTED SECRETARY OF HOUSE DEMOCRATIC CAUCUS

AUSTIN — The Texas House Democratic Caucus re-elected State Representative Veronica Gonzales (D-McAllen) as Secretary for the 80th Legislative Session.   The Caucus serves to promote Democratic leadership in the State Legislature.

Rep. Gonzales of McAllen is pleased to be re-elected to her second term as Secretary in the Texas House of Representatives. “My colleagues’ confidence in my ability to continue to serve the Caucus makes me proud,” said Gonzales.

Gonzales is the only Member from the Rio Grande Valley to hold an officer position.  “I am honored that my colleagues have shown confidence in me and I am eager to move Texas forward with good policy that benefits, not only my constituents in the Rio Grande Valley, but all Texans,” said Gonzales.

Rep. Jim Dunnam (D-Waco) was re-elected to serve as Caucus Chair.  Rep. Jessica Farrar (D-Houston) was elected Vice-Chair; Rep. Terri Hodge (D-Dallas) was also re-elected to the Texas Democratic Caucus as Treasurer.
